Advantages of Fixed Implant Bridges

Fixed Implant Bridges include two or more dental implants placed in the jawbone which support multiple-unit bridge made from porcelain teeth to replace two or more missing teeth. In addition to preserving the jawbone and surrounding teeth, bridges can help maintain your smile and restore your bite. Also their advantage over removable dentures are that they are fixed and don’t need to be removed while sleeping or teeth cleaning.

How does it work?

A dental implant bridge consists of a titanium screw that acts as a base for replacing one or more teeth. This bridge is composed of three components.
  • The foundation of a dental implant, known as the implant post or body, is placed in the jaw to serve as an anchor.
  • The abutment is the component that connects the implant post to the crown.
  • The crown is the visible part of the implant in the mouth. It can also be used as an implant bridge when multiple implants are involved.

Dental Implant Bridge Schedule

From beginning to end, the process usually lasts for a period of 5-6 months.
  • Insert the implant into the jaw bone and wait for 4 months for it to integrate.
  • Expose the implants and give the gums 2 weeks to shape correctly.
  • Make impressions and send them to an external lab to create the abutment and crown, which typically takes 3-4 weeks.
  • Attach the abutment and crown onto the implant.
